Hewlett Packard Enterprise wants to help you build a software application or digital service that could change lives

Hi BetaNYC -

I think this community would be superb participants in a new social innovation challenge sponsored by HPE. See below for more info or check out the challenge home.

Challenge Outreach Team

Millions of people who can’t access the power of technology are being left behind—excluded from a world of opportunity. Through the Living Progress Challenge, Hewlett Packard Enterprise invites the global community to bring forward great ideas that address social issues through digitally-enabled solutions. The Challenge is to answer the question: What software applications and digital services would you create to improve people’s lives?

Ideas can target any area—education, healthcare, employment or financial services—to name just a few. As ideas are submitted, people around the world can then team-up through a global crowdsourcing platform to submit proposals outlining how these ideas can be executed. The deadline to submit both ideas and proposals is March 11, 2016.

Through a competitive process, up to 20 proposals will be chosen to receive free project management, UX/technical architecture, and software development services from both HPE and the Topcoder crowdsourcing community that will enable them to develop software prototypes. The prototypes of up to 5 finalists will be built and deployed into fully functional digital software solutions. The view the full challenge details, visit the challenge site.
