Community thoughts about Current State

  • Mobile focused based on accessibility
  • MWBE (Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise) is advertised but they don’t have enough staff to process applications (it can take a year!)
  • Lots of people with medical emergencies lose their lives between the time 911 is called and the ambulance arrival
  • LinkNYC sucks! People don’t trust it. Design means people sit on sidewalk to use it and it’s not a good impression. Data not so useful to passerbys
  • LinkNYC is pervasive but doesn’t collect valuable resident input on city services or community needs

Community thoughts about Desired Future State

  • Increase staffing at building dept (it’s terribly slow)
  • Expand free wifi to all public parks
