Hello wonderful civic tech friends!
For the past two years, BetaNYC has been hired to run a project, based in the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, called the Civic Innovation Fellows. We train CUNY undergraduate students to use open data and civic tech to make our City a better, more efficient, and equitable place.
We are looking for some help. From now until June, we are prototyping a BI tool (i.e. a dashboard) for Community Boards to derive relevant and timely insights from 311 data. Our tool will help inform their monthly meetings.
Do you have expertise in Macros/VBA programming in Excel, and/or PowerBI, and/or Tableau? Might you have 5 to 10 hours a week to help us?
We have a great civic innovation lab within the Manhattan Borough President’s Office at 1 Centre Street (aka the Municipal Building), and there are some fantastic people on the project, including a cadre of inspired and inspiring CUNY undergraduates. We have fun too
We meet every M/W/F from 9-5 and we’re looking for some help starting next week, 30 Jan.
Please let us know if you have the qualifications and interest.
If you can make the commitment to work between 5 to 10 hours a week, email Emily at email@example.com and we’ll schedule an interview. Please send a resume or CV and/or a work sample, with a brief note of your capabilities.
Thank you so much!
