23 Sept - Join us and learn about NYC's open data program

(Noel Hidalgo) #1

Our NYC 311 data jam is fast approaching! IF you’re new to open data and interested in learning how to use the city’s data, we have THREE CLASSES FOR YOU!

#1. What is open data? We have an introductory class on NYC’s open data. This class will be taught by BetaNYC’s Emily Goldman and will use NYC 311 service request dataset to walk you through the basics of the City’s data portal. The day long class will orient you to reverse engineer data sets, derive insights, and visualize data.

#2. Have you ever wondered how to build data dashboards? This class will be taught by Microsoft Civic and will use NYC 311 service request dataset to build browser based dashboards via PowerBI. The day long class will empower you to make interactive dashboards.

#3. Lets be honest, spreadsheets are some of the most powerful and accessible data tools on this planet. This class will be taught by Datapolitan and will use the NYC 311 service request dataset to level up your data crunching expertise.
